Frequently asked questions

Got some questions about the Super Woman Money Program?

We’ve tried to answer our most frequently asked questions below. If your question still isn’t answered, simply email us at superwoman@vicsuper.com.au.

Who can join the Super Woman Money Program?

Any woman who wants to take charge of her finances.

Who writes the articles and speaks at the events?

Highly qualified financial experts – who are all women! You can learn more about our experts here.

Is there any cost to join?

No, there is no charge for participating in this program. There is also no obligation to become a VicSuper member.

Why do I need to register?

Registration is really just providing us with your contact details and permission to email you, so that we can send you the articles and event invitations. Registration is thus necessary for each round of the program. There is no cost to register and you can register online here.

Can I opt out of the program?

Of course. You can unsubscribe from the email updates at any time (via a link provided in every email), which will also remove your program registration.

Who hosts the program?

The Super Woman Money Program is hosted and run by VicSuper, a not-for-profit superannuation fund which is open to the public. VicSuper is committed to financial education and assisting people to make the most out of their super – after all, superannuation is most people’s largest financial asset after their family home. Over 60% of VicSuper members are women so we’ve launched this Super Woman Money Program to empower all women to take control of their financial future.

What if I’m not a VicSuper member?

This program is open to all women, not just those who are members of VicSuper.

What if I don’t live in Melbourne?

Whilst the events will occur in the Melbourne CBD, we will be recording them this year. So you can benefit from the articles and the events will be broadcast online after they occur.

Can I come along to events with a friend or family member?

Of course. Please just ensure you register online for you both first.

When do event registrations open?

Event registrations open 2-3 weeks prior to each event, which we’ve found is the planning time needed by most of our ‘super women’.

Do I need to attend all events?

No, you can just read the articles, or pick the event you’re most interested in.

I’ve only just heard about it and the program is already started – what should I do?

You can go back and read any of the articles from the beginning. If you sign up online, you’ll also be the first to hear about the next program, so you won’t miss out next time.

Have you run this program before?

The first Super Woman Money Program ran from March to June 2012. Over 750 women participated, registering to receive articles and coming along to events. In a survey after the first program concluded, 97% of those that read the articles were motivated to apply the knowledge to their own finances and 98% of those that attended the events were motivated to apply the knowledge to their own finances.

Is anything different about this upcoming program?

The next Super Woman Money Program will commence in the coming months. Whilst the program largely remains unchanged, we have made a few changes due to feedback including more investment focused articles, events at different times of the week and recording events for online broadcast to accommodate those who can’t make the events.
